These degree courses, which consist of one to two years of concentrated study, provide academically-trained young professionals in first leading positions from developing countries with the opportunity to engage in postgraduate education and training in their particular field or profession.

Prerequisites and Requirements

The typical scholarship holder

    Will come either from a public authority or a state or private company in a developing country and, as such, be engaged in the planning and execution of directives and projects with emphasis on development policies having a bearing on technological, economic or social areas
    Holds a bachelor’s degree (four years) in related subject
    Will have completed an academic degree with grades far beyond average and at least two years of related professional experience
    Is not older than 36 (for some courses the age limit is 32), respectively his/her academic degrees should normally not be older than six years. Concerning a possible age limit.

Language skills:

    For courses in German: DSH 2 or TestDaF 4; at time of application German skills at completed level A2 are required. In addition, German language courses at level A2 or B1 are highly recommended
    Exception: Candidates for some German-speaking courses need a very good command of German at time of application.
    Note: It is not possible to pass the required German language courses (DSH or TestDaF) without any basic knowledge in the German language, even with the preceding six months of intensive course in Germany
    For courses in English: IELTS (band 6) certificate or TOEFL (minimum score: 550 paper based, 213 computer based, 80 internet based)
    Note: Some courses may expect different level.

Proof of current work situation:
All applicants should state their current work situation at the time of application and submit a letter of reference from their employer(s), ideally guaranteeing re-employment after completion of the postgraduate course. A certificate of employment from the employer(s) should state the period of employment and inform about the applicant’s specific function and responsibilities during that time.

Statement of motivation:
Applicants must submit a statement of motivation explaining why they are interested in attending a particular postgraduate course with reference to their current employment.

Application formalities:
If you have no private financial resources or cannot obtain a scholarship from your government, company or an international organisation, you may apply for a DAAD scholarship – either full or partial. DAAD application forms are available from the German embassies or from the DAAD offices abroad or directly at the University or Fachhochschule.

Applications from Cameroon, Myanmar and Nigeria must be submitted via the German embassy.

Applicants from the People’s Republic of China are required to enclose two self-adressed address labels written in Chinese characters with their application documents.

Please note: Scholarships cannot be awarded without the official DAAD application form. Many courses, however, have their own forms, which must be submitted in addition to this. Applicants are requested to state whether they will be financing the desired degree course themselves or whether the course can only be taken with the assistance of a DAAD scholarship. Chances of admission to postgraduate courses will be greatly enhanced for academically qualified applicants with personal financial resources.

Applications via email will not be accepted.

Application deadlines for DAAD-scholarships:

    31 July at the German embassies or at the DAAD regional offices (Please ask for possible modifications in your home country!) or
    31 August at the DAAD section 431 in Bonn/Germany or
    15 October at the respective universities in Germany. The application deadlines at the respective universities may vary from course to course. Please check the relevant deadlines in this booklet.

Beasiswa Kedokteran UI + biaya hidup, uang buku, dll : FKUI adalah salah satu lembaga pendidikan kedokteran terkemuka yang menjadi acuan nasional dan hingga saat ini masih menjadi pilihan bagi calon mahasiswa dari seluruh Indonesia. Dengan dibukanya berbagai jalur masuk ke UI, (antara lain, melalui PPKB dan SENAMPTN), maka mahasiswa yang menjalani pendidikan Program Sarjana Reguler di FKUI – pun berasal dari berbagai wilayah di Indonsia dengan latar belakang sosial ekonomi yang beragam. Sejalan dengan itu, timbul permasalahan dalam biaya pendidikan di FKUI dan biaya hidup di Jakarta yang menjadi kendala dan hambatan bagi para calon mahasiswa, sehingga calon mahasiwa berkecil hati dan pesimis, merasa tidak mampu menjalani pendidikan di FKUI.

Mengecap pendidikan, termasuk pendidikan tinggi adalah hak setiap warga negara Indonesia. Oleh sebab itu, disusunlah suatu program yang bernama Beasiswa Paripurna untuk Bangsa (BPuB), yang dibiayai dari dana beasiswa Universitas Indonesia untuk memperluas akses mahasiswa berpotensi dengan latar belakang ekonomi yang kurang. Program ini khusus untuk mahasiswa jenjang Sarjana Reguler Kedokteran yang tidak hanya membantu biaya pendidikan, tetapi juga biaya hidup dan fasilitas akademik. StuNed for Short Courses
Main requirements to apply:

    be an Indonesian national
    have earned a S1 or Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent at a recognized university in Indonesia; be able to provide evidence of the academic achievements (minimum GPA score 2.75)
    relevant work experience for at least two years
    have an academic or professional background that is related to the subject of the course;
    be full time available for the entire period of the study programme or course and be able to participate in and complete all courses
    have a high level of English proficiency, TOEFL IBT 68 or IELTS 5,5
    be admitted to one of the courses or programmes offered by Institutes of Higher Education in the Netherlands for the academic year 2012
    no age limit, but priority will be given to the mid-career professional

All short courses in www.studyfinder.nl with a duration of more than 6 weeks and less then 6 months with a clear relation to the objectives of the StuNed programme.

Evans Drum Scholarship, Musicians Institute, USA : Musicians Institute and Evans Drumheads have created the Evans Drum Scholarship to assist advanced, stylistically diverse drummers with their educational development.

The Evans Drum Scholarship, sponsored by Evans Drumheads, is awarded each Fall and Spring to students (US or non-US citizens) enrolling in the Associate of Arts in Performance (Drums) program who demonstrate overall outstanding musicianship and stylistic versatility. The scholarship is applicable for students enrolled in the Drum performance program only, and may not be transferred to “non-performance program” emphases (Audio Engineering, Music Business, Independent Artist, Guitar Craft, or Film) within an AA degree.

The scholarship details and criteria are as follows:

Scholarship Competition

MIB School of Management of Trieste, Italy is pleased to announce a scholarship competition for applicants to the XXIII Edition of the MBA in International Business.

The Scholarships will go toward tuition fees to attend the XXIII edition of the MBA in International Business programme (September 2012 – September 2013).

The Scholarships will cover up to 50% of the tuition fees. The full tuition fees are equivalent to 25.000,00 EUR (21% VAT included). The amount of the scholarships will be discounted from the overall tuition fees. In case of course abandonment or exclusion for any reason, no amount of the scholarship will be paid or reimbursed.

Candidates must meet the following requirements:

    Academic degree (or equivalent qualification) in any discipline.

    Applicants should have an IELTS score at least 5 (no band under 5.0); or TOEFL score at least 450.
    Under 40 years old for PhD and Master Program.
    Under 25 years old for Undergraduate Program.

Benefits and Conditions

    Students are required to enroll in the year in which the scholarship is awarded. The scholarship cannot be extended.
    The scholarship will be renewed on an annual basis for the duration of the initial single degree (not double degree) subject to satisfactory performance of the student as determined by the University. Unsatisfactory academic performance will result of termination of scholarship.
    The University reserves the right to terminate the scholarship at any time if the student does not obey University rules and regulations or does not progress through programs at the normal full-time rate.
    Students who do not meet the minimum Indonesian language proficiency for their study are suggested to follow a pre-course language program for maximum of six months course, and the fee will be covered by University.

Beasiswa S1 S2 INGGRIS di University of Brighton - International Undergraduate & Postgraduate Scholarships, University of Brighton, UK : In 2012, 40 University of Brighton international scholarships worth a reduction of £4,000 off the cost of your tuition fees for each year of your course are available to new, full-time international undergraduate and postgraduate taught degree students.
Criteria
The criteria for awarding University of Brighton international scholarships are primarily merit-based.

    Merit does not necessarily have to mean academic merit but could also be interpreted to include outstanding performance in a variety of spheres.
    The strongest candidates will be those demonstrating a mixture of academic merit (including English language ability) and other merit or outstanding achievement in a particular field of activity.
    You will also need to demonstrate that you have sufficient funds to pay the remainder of the fees.

Eligibility
In order to be eligible to apply for a scholarship you must be a new, full-time undergraduate or postgraduate taught degree international student with a minimum course duration of 1 year, and must have applied for the course of your choice at the University of Brighton, and have been offered a place on that course for 2012 entry.

Students studying foundation degrees or undergraduate degrees at University of Brighton partner colleges are not eligible for these awards. Existing international students are not eligible unless starting a new undergraduate or postgraduate programme.

How to apply
For the 2012 academic year, please email internationalscholarships@brighton.ac.uk, with your applicant or UCAS number in the subject line, and we will send you a scholarship application pack. The application form can then be returned electronically to the same email address or sent by post to the address indicated on the scholarship application form.

Deadline for application
Requests for scholarship application forms will be considered from 1 October 2011 for 2012 entry. The deadline for receiving scholarship applications back is 31 July 2012. Before that date, early applications will be processed and awards made at the end of April 2012 and then at the end of July. Decisions will be made by an Awards committee coordinated by the International Office, Registry, and decisions about scholarship awards will be communicated to applicants approximately two weeks after those dates. ASEAN Scholarships for Indonesia by Ministry of Education, Singapore : The ASEAN Scholarships for Indonesia is tenable for 4 years leading to the award of the Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education Advanced (GCE A) Level (or equivalent) certificate.

The Scholarship is for studies in selected Singapore schools from Secondary Three to Pre-University Two and is renewed annually, subject to the satisfactory performance of the scholar.

Students from Indonesia are welcome to apply for the ASEAN Scholarships for Indonesia to enter Singapore schools at the Secondary Three level. Candidates who are not short-listed for the scholarships will be considered for the Merit Awards.

Eligibility
Students who meet the following criteria are invited to apply for the scholarship:

    Nationals of Indonesia
    Born between 1996 to 1998
    Sat for 2012 SMP 3 National Final Evaluation Examination (UAN) and have done consistently well in school

    Korean applicants must submit the score report from an official English test when they apply to UNIST. The above scores are a requirement for graduation, not for admission, and thus do not need to be met at the time of the application.
    Native English speakers are exempt from submitting a score. (U.S, Canada, U.K, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand) – When English is used as an official language in an applicant’s country, in addition to other languages, applicants are exempt from submitting a score when they apply for admission but must submit a certificate stating that they have completed all of their university courses in English for exemption.
    Except for the above case, every foreign applicant must submit an official English test score that exceeds the graduate standard.

Important Information

    Admission shall be cancelled if a successful applicant fails to pay the registration deposit or the tuition fee to the bank designated by the university.
    Under no circumstance shall the submitted documents be returned.
    Applicants are granted only one admission in one school.
    The applicant is responsible for the disadvantages (including the cancellation of admission) caused by failure to submit required documents, errors or omissions in the documents, the failure to fulfill the requirements indicated in the guidelines, unclear addresses, correspondence failures, the failure to check the list of admitted candidates, the failure to execute procedures necessary to enter the country, etc).
    If the applicant gained admission in an illegal manner, such as forgery or alteration of documents or through translation errors on the documents, and this fact was found while at school (or after graduation), the admission shall be cancelled (or all the academic records shall be erased). Furthermore, if a criminal case is suspected, the student will be reported to the authorities in both countries in accordance with the law.
    All the documents should be translated into either English or Korean, and be notarized (or authenticated by a public notary).

Value and duration
The scholarship will cover PhD fees for up to three and a half years plus living costs of $15,000. A paid teaching assistantship may form part of the scholarship.

Eligibility

Global South Scholar-In-Residence Fellowship, Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, Switzerland
This fellowship is open to outstanding young professors from universities from developing and emerging countries pursuing advanced research in areas bridging the fields of international and development studies, broadly defined, and working in disciplines such as anthropology, history, law, politics and political science, and economics.

Scholars will spend one semester at the Institute to :

    Update and strengthen the curriculum of their course ;
    Further a personal research project ;
    Participate in teaching courses ;
    Interact with the international community of the Institute and Geneva area.

Scholars receive a contribution towards living expenses. The Scholarship also covers round trip travel to and accommodation in Geneva.

The selection will be based on the quality of research. Quality being equal, selection may be guided by an interest in promoting gender and regional diversity. Candidates should demonstrate how their research stay will contribute to their academic career and their home institution.

Conditions for applications
Candidates must hold a PhD and have a full time tenure-track or tenured position in an academic institution in Africa, Asia, or Latin America.

Their teaching and research activities and interests must fit with the Institute’s disciplines and fields of expertise (international affairs, development studies, development economics, sociology and anthropology of development, international economics, international relations, international law, international history and politics).

Special consideration will be given to individuals with an interest in international governance and/or research on international organisations in Geneva to join the Institute’s Programme for the Study of International Governance.

OBJECTIVES
Scholars will :

    Update and strengthen the curriculum of their course through close contact with colleagues working in the same discipline or area of expertise;
    Further a personal research project by taking advantage of the plethora of expertise available in the Institute’s research centres and programmes, as well as the library’s resources, one of the most important European repositories in the field;
    Participate in teaching courses (depending on the needs of the study plan, they may be called upon to teach a course for the entire semester);
    Interact with the Institute’s students and faculty, as well as with international, public and private-sector actors from the Geneva area.

BENEFITS

    The Institute will cover costs of travel and visas for participants as well accommodation costs;
    It will ensure a monthly stipend to compensate in the case of the loss of income* in the institution of origin and to cover subsistence costs in Geneva; upon presentation of a certificate
    Participants will be provided with a work space, and access to the Institute’s library and IT facilities.

The “la Caixa” Foundation initiated in 2008 a fellowship programme to offer outstanding students from all over the world the chance of taking a PhD in Biomedicine at the CRG (Centre for Genomic Regulation) This year, 10 four-year fellowships are offered to do a PhD in Biomedicine at the CRG.

The “la Caixa” Foundation is a non-profitmaking organisation, which receives its funding from the third biggest financial entity in Spain, the Caja de Ahorros y Pensiones de Barcelona, “la Caixa”. In terms of budget and business volume, the “la Caixa” Foundation is among the ten most important Foundations in the world.

Since 1982, the “la Caixa” Foundation has run various fellowship programmes to enable Spanish students to study postgraduate courses in Spain and other countries. In these twenty-five years, thousands of students have been able to develop their studies thanks to a fellowship from the Foundation.

The “la Caixa” Foundation chose the CRG to initiate this programme because of the excellence of its research projects, the international nature of its scientific teams, the quality of its technological equipment, the inter-disciplinary nature of its projects and the abundance of its articles published in top-ranking scientific journals and media.

The CRG is an international biomedical research institute of excellence, created at the initiative of the Catalan Government, with the participation of the Pompeu Fabra University, and the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation. Its mission is to discover and advance knowledge for the benefit of society, public health and economic prosperity. The CRG is located at the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB). Research at the CRG is centered around six scientific programmes, with extensive interdisciplinary collaborations across the following areas:

    Cell and Developmental Biology
    Differentiation and Cancer
    Genes and Disease
    Systems Biology

Selection process

    Oral interviews: Short-listed candidates will receive invitations to visit the CRG for a 3 day period of interviews that will take place 9-14 weeks after the application deadline.
    Fellowship offers: Offers will be made to the successful candidates shortly after the interview period. Selected students will have two weeks to accept the position and should start their fellowships no later than September 1st.

International Postgraduate Research Scholarships (IPRS) and Scholarships for International Research Fees (SIRFs)

Applications are invited from suitably qualified international students for scholarships to undertake the degree of Master by Research or Doctor of Philosophy at The University of Western Australia. Application for a scholarship is also an application for admission to the University.

City provides a number of fully-funded, full-time, three-year Doctoral Studentships to outstanding candidates as part of its ongoing investment in academic excellence.

For entry in October 2012, we will be offering up to 70 new Doctoral Studentships.

Eligibility
University Doctoral Studentships are available to both UK/EU and overseas fee-paying students who will be studying full-time. They can be held in any School of the University.

Applicants are assessed on the basis of their research excellence or demonstrable potential and the quality of their research proposal. If you wish to be considered for a University Studentship you should discuss your proposal with the relevant School, Department or Centre to establish whether you can be supported.

What is offered
A Doctoral Studentship provides:

    an annual bursary (£15,500 in 2012/13 and expected to rise in line with inflation in subsequent years);
    a full tuition fee waiver;
    a one-off allowance of £1,000 which may be used across the three-year period of the studentship to support research needs such as specialist training, equipment or conference attendance.

Continuation of the award after the first year is subject to confirmation by the relevant School of satisfactory progress. Studentship holders are usually expected to undertake some form of teaching support activity as part of the bursary arrangements. This will be agreed with the School concerned. Training will be provided to support any teaching activity.

The University provides a broad research and enterprise development programme to support the development of research skills.
