This fellowship is open to outstanding young professors from universities from developing and emerging countries pursuing advanced research in areas bridging the fields of international and development studies, broadly defined, and working in disciplines such as anthropology, history, law, politics and political science, and economics.

Scholars will spend one semester at the Institute to :

    Update and strengthen the curriculum of their course ;
    Further a personal research project ;
    Participate in teaching courses ;
    Interact with the international community of the Institute and Geneva area.

Scholars receive a contribution towards living expenses. The Scholarship also covers round trip travel to and accommodation in Geneva.

The selection will be based on the quality of research. Quality being equal, selection may be guided by an interest in promoting gender and regional diversity. Candidates should demonstrate how their research stay will contribute to their academic career and their home institution.

Conditions for applications
Candidates must hold a PhD and have a full time tenure-track or tenured position in an academic institution in Africa, Asia, or Latin America.

Their teaching and research activities and interests must fit with the Institute’s disciplines and fields of expertise (international affairs, development studies, development economics, sociology and anthropology of development, international economics, international relations, international law, international history and politics).

Special consideration will be given to individuals with an interest in international governance and/or research on international organisations in Geneva to join the Institute’s Programme for the Study of International Governance.

OBJECTIVES
Scholars will :

    Update and strengthen the curriculum of their course through close contact with colleagues working in the same discipline or area of expertise;
    Further a personal research project by taking advantage of the plethora of expertise available in the Institute’s research centres and programmes, as well as the library’s resources, one of the most important European repositories in the field;
    Participate in teaching courses (depending on the needs of the study plan, they may be called upon to teach a course for the entire semester);
    Interact with the Institute’s students and faculty, as well as with international, public and private-sector actors from the Geneva area.

BENEFITS

    The Institute will cover costs of travel and visas for participants as well accommodation costs;
    It will ensure a monthly stipend to compensate in the case of the loss of income* in the institution of origin and to cover subsistence costs in Geneva; upon presentation of a certificate
    Participants will be provided with a work space, and access to the Institute’s library and IT facilities.

HOW TO APPLY

    1st of October 2011 for Residence in the Spring Semester 2012 (mid-February to the end of May)
    1st of March 2012 for Residence in the Fall Semester 2012 (mid-September to the end of January)

The “la Caixa” Foundation initiated in 2008 a fellowship programme to offer outstanding students from all over the world the chance of taking a PhD in Biomedicine at the CRG (Centre for Genomic Regulation) This year, 10 four-year fellowships are offered to do a PhD in Biomedicine at the CRG.

The “la Caixa” Foundation is a non-profitmaking organisation, which receives its funding from the third biggest financial entity in Spain, the Caja de Ahorros y Pensiones de Barcelona, “la Caixa”. In terms of budget and business volume, the “la Caixa” Foundation is among the ten most important Foundations in the world.

Since 1982, the “la Caixa” Foundation has run various fellowship programmes to enable Spanish students to study postgraduate courses in Spain and other countries. In these twenty-five years, thousands of students have been able to develop their studies thanks to a fellowship from the Foundation.

The “la Caixa” Foundation chose the CRG to initiate this programme because of the excellence of its research projects, the international nature of its scientific teams, the quality of its technological equipment, the inter-disciplinary nature of its projects and the abundance of its articles published in top-ranking scientific journals and media.

The CRG is an international biomedical research institute of excellence, created at the initiative of the Catalan Government, with the participation of the Pompeu Fabra University, and the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation. Its mission is to discover and advance knowledge for the benefit of society, public health and economic prosperity. The CRG is located at the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB). Research at the CRG is centered around six scientific programmes, with extensive interdisciplinary collaborations across the following areas:

    Cell and Developmental Biology
    Differentiation and Cancer
    Genes and Disease

Selection process
The selection of the fellows will be based on the candidates’ academic qualifications and research excellence.

    Pre-selection: The pre-selection will be based on the candidate’s CV, reference letters and on the research interests. Complete applications will be reviewed within a month after the deadline.
    Oral interviews: Short-listed candidates will receive invitations to visit the CRG for a 3 day period of interviews that will take place 9-14 weeks after the application deadline.
    Fellowship offers: Offers will be made to the successful candidates shortly after the interview period. Selected students will have two weeks to accept the position and should start their fellowships no later than September 1st.

International Postgraduate Research Scholarships (IPRS) and Scholarships for International Research Fees (SIRFs)

Applications are invited from suitably qualified international students for scholarships to undertake the degree of Master by Research or Doctor of Philosophy at The University of Western Australia. Application for a scholarship is also an application for admission to the University.

The purpose of the IPRS and the UWA SIRF scheme is to attract top quality international postgraduate students to areas in which the University has specialised research strengths and to support Australia’s research effort. Successful applicants can expect to become members of a research team working under the direction of senior researchers and in an area which has attracted external resources.

For entry in October 2012, we will be offering up to 70 new Doctoral Studentships.

Eligibility
University Doctoral Studentships are available to both UK/EU and overseas fee-paying students who will be studying full-time. They can be held in any School of the University.

Applicants are assessed on the basis of their research excellence or demonstrable potential and the quality of their research proposal. If you wish to be considered for a University Studentship you should discuss your proposal with the relevant School, Department or Centre to establish whether you can be supported.

What is offered
A Doctoral Studentship provides:

    an annual bursary (£15,500 in 2012/13 and expected to rise in line with inflation in subsequent years);
    a full tuition fee waiver;
    a one-off allowance of £1,000 which may be used across the three-year period of the studentship to support research needs such as specialist training, equipment or conference attendance.

Continuation of the award after the first year is subject to confirmation by the relevant School of satisfactory progress. Studentship holders are usually expected to undertake some form of teaching support activity as part of the bursary arrangements. This will be agreed with the School concerned. Training will be provided to support any teaching activity.

Kementerian Komunikasi dan Informatika RI kembali bekerja sama dengan Magister Teknologi Informasi UGM untuk menyelenggarakan Beasiswa Program S2 Chief Information Officer (CIO) Tahun Akademik 2012/2013. Beasiswa ini diberikan kepada Pegawai Negeri Sipil (PNS) /Calon Pegawai Negeri Sipil (CPNS) yang ditempatkan di lembaga-lembaga departemen, non departemen, baik di lingkungan pemerintahan pusat maupun daerah.

CIO adalah sebuah jabatan strategis yang memadukan teknologi dan sistem informasi dengan aspek-aspek manajemen lainnya agar dapat memberikan dukungan maksimal terhadap pencapaian tujuan organisasi.

Tugas pokok CIO adalah memastikan pemanfaatan Teknologi Informasi dan Komunikasi (TIK) di organisasi bisa memberikan dukungan maksimal terhadap proses-proses di organisasi tersebut. Seorang CIO bertugas agar implementasi TIK bias selaras (aligned) dengan program-program yang dijalankan sehingga tercipta efisiensi, akurasi, kecepatan dan transparansi.

Program CIO
Program CIO ditujukan untuk eksekutif/pengambil kebijakan yang bertanggung jawab mempromosikan TI sebagai sarana peningkatan kualitas birokrasi pemerintahan, baik pada level strategis maupun operasional. Program CIO MTI UGM dirancang untuk memenuhi kebutuhan SDM dalam rangka pengembangan e-Government di lembaga pemerintah tingkat pusat maupun daerah.

Tujuan
Tujuan pemberian beasiswa secara umum adalah mewujudkan SDM aparatur pemerintah yang profesional di bidang TIK dalam menjalankan tugas dan fungsi di instansi masing-masing. Secara khusus, Program Beasiswa S2 CIO bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kuantitas dan kualitas SDM yang bertanggungjawab mendayagunakan TIK guna mewujudkan clean and good governance di lingkungan instansi pemerintah, baik pada tataran strategis maupun operasional.

Program Beasiswa ini diharapkan dapat membantu menjadi katalisator dan akselerator pemenuhan kebutuhan SDM dalam rangka pengembangan e-Government di lingkungan Pemerintah Pusat dan Pemerintah Daerah dan mampu menjembatani antara pihak manajemen/eksekutif/bisnis dengan Teknologi Informasi.

Skema
Beasiswa diberikan dalam bentuk pembebasan penuh (full waiver) terhadap biaya pendidikan di Program CIO MTI UGM, senilai biaya SPP yang berlaku saat ini.

Beasiswa hanya mencakup biaya program pendidikan, tidak mencakup biaya hidup, biaya transportasi dari/ke lokasi asal peserta, biaya pendaftaran, dan biaya wisuda. Jika peserta tidak dapat menyelesaikan studi dalam batas waktu yang telah ditentukan, biaya tambahan masa studi ditanggung peserta.

Eligibility for Application

Applicant and his/her parents must be citizens of a foreign country.
Applicant who has Korean citizenship is not eligible to apply
Applicants should be in good health, both mentally and physically, to stay in Korea for a long period of time.
Applicants must submit “Personal Medical Assessment” during the application process and if admitted, he/she must submit an “Official Medical Assessment” issued by a medical doctor. If serious conditions are found including HIV and drug related issues in which long term international study can be affected, admission will be rescinded prior to applicant’s entry to Korea.
Should be under 40 years of age as of September 1, 2012 (Born post September 1, 1972)
Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree as of August 31, 2012.
If applicant fails to obtain the necessary degree by August 31, 2012, his/her eligibility will be revoked.
For Master’s program: students who hold a Bachelor’s degree or a diploma that is equivalent to or higher than Bachelor’s degree
For Doctoral program: students who hold a Master’s degree or a diploma that is equivalent to or higher than Master’s degree.
If you are an expected graduate, you must submit the certificate of expected graduation for the application process and submit the official certificate of graduation by the date of your entrance to Korea on September 1, 2012.
Those who attended or graduated from a University in Korea for their undergraduate/graduate studies are not eligible to apply.
Possess a GPA of at least 3.0/4.0 (letter grade of B) or at least 80% on a percentage scale or those who can be considered to have credentials equivalent to above.
If the official grade cannot be calculated on a percentage scale or into a GPA, applicant must submit an official document issued by their school explaining the reason for the same.

Application Procedure
Admission decisions are based on the candidate’s academic achievements and potential, as well as his or her personal accomplishments.

The admissions committee reviews a number of factors including records of past studies (such as GPA), study plan, personal statement, and letters of recommendation. Other achievement records and specific qualifications such as language proficiency are also taken into consideration. Candidate’s application is reviewed in the context of the level of studies completed, quality of achievement and characteristics of institutions attended. Finally, the appropriateness of the applicant’s academic goals and suitability of preparation for the proposed program of studies are assessed.

Interviews, examinations, and/or additional documents may be required from the applicant, based on the policy of the specific college or department. Applicants will be notified via individual email should an interview or a separate exam be necessary.

Important Notes

Submit the completed ‘Desired area of study’ form, along with rest of the required application documents to the Office of Admissions by February 14, 2012 (Tue.).

Applicant may apply through only a single recommending institution, which includes diplomatic office, university, adoption organization. Monthly living allowance is paid to the students by the host institution at the following rates (CNY Yuan per month):
Master degree students, general scholars: CNY 1,700 Yuan
Doctoral degree students, senior scholars: CNY 2,000 Yuan
A one-off settlement subsidy after registration
CNY 1,500 Yuan for new overseas students who will study in China over one academic year or more
Fee for outpatient medical service refers to the outpatient expense incurred in the CQU hospital or the hospitals appointed by CQU. The students should pay a certain percentage of expense in accordance with the institution’s relevant regulations.
Comprehensive Medical Insurance and Benefit Plan for International Students in China is insured by Ministry of Education of China for the scholarship students in China against diseases and accidents. The institution is entitled to ask for compensation on the payment receipts from the insurance company for the expenses generated from hospitalizing for serious diseases or from accidental injury according to the stipulated insurance articles.
A one-off inter-city travel ticket (each for coming-in and leaving China)
Scholarship students are supposed to choose the nearest port to their admitting institutions for inter-city travel and a hard-seat train ticket (hard-berth train ticket for overnight trip) will be provided to freshmen transferring from the port of entry to the city where the admitting institution is located and students finishing study in China transferring from the city where the institution is located to the nearest port for departure. Expenses for food during the trip and excess of baggage should be self-afforded.
International travel expenses shall be self-afforded.

Application Materials

Applicants are required to submit application on the website of China Scholarship Council and have the application printed and send it together with other documents required to the International Students Office, Chongqing University.

The applicants must fill in the application form and provide the following materials truly and correctly (one original and three copies).

A study or research plan in Chinese or in English (no less than 800 words).
Applicants shall submit two letters of recommendation in Chinese or English by professors or associate professors.
Applicants for music are requested to submit one cassette recording of the applicants’ own work. Applicants for fine arts must submit six color photographs of personal works (two sketches, two color paintings and two other works).
Photocopy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form (printed by Chinese quarantine authority) filled in English. The medical examinations must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete records or those without the signature of the attending physician, official stamp of the hospital or a sealed photograph of the applicants are invalid. The medical examination results will be valid for 6 months. Students who win the scholarship will be required to retake physical examination when they arrive in China in September, 2012. All applicants are kindly requested to take this factor into consideration while determining the time to take the medical examination.
English or Chinese language proficiency certificate. (IELTS, TOEFL or HSK)

Application materials will not be returned regardless of the result of application.

Approval and Notification

Applicants are required to fill the application form online and submit application materials by post to Chongqing University International Student Office before March 20th, 2012. The office will submit qualified application materials to China Scholarship Council for approval. The application will be seen as invalid and will not be processed if the applicants are not qualified or the application materials are inconsistent with the enrollment regulations or are incomplete.
Chongqing University International Student Office will inform the scholarship applicants of final results and send Admission Notice and Visa Application Form for Study in China (JW201) to Scholarship applicants accepted by July 30th 2012.
Students are not permitted, in principle, to change their specialties, institutions, or the duration of study specified in the Admission Notice after registration.

Are highly interested to pursue an overseas master degree in the field of science and technology: Engineering, Pharmaceutical, Mathematical, Agriculture, IT Sciences (except Medicine & Veterinary Medicine) with minimum GPA 3.50.
Posses an excellent academic performance and has strong sense of Indonesia nationalism and leadership.
Completed at least 16 years of formal education (inclusive elementary, junior/senior high school and College) or shall be graduating from College by March 2012.
Will not be more than 35 years of age by 1 April 2013 and will not be receiving other scholarship.
Must be in good physical and mental health and have a strong motivation for learning.
Have the strong desire to learn the Japanese Language & Culture since its proficiency level shall be used as a pre-requisite to majority of the courses for graduate school acceptance
Pass the screening and selection process in Ajinomoto Indonesia.
Pass the required grade needed for exams such as Test of English as Foreign Language (TOEFL), Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT)

JPY 150,000/monthly allowance (maximum for 1 year) for a research graduate school student.
JPY 180,000/monthly allowance (maximum for 2 years) for a master’s course graduate school student.
JPY 200,000 airfare coverage (to and from Japan)
Full coverage of Examination, Admission and Tuition fees.

Types of Ajinomoto Scholarship:

Master’s Student Program: a. Must be able to pass level 3 (basic level) of Japanese Language Proficiency test. b. Entire program should be finished within two years. c. Should able to submit required documentation to the University of Tokyo for the chosen field of study.
Research Student Program + Master’s Student Program: a. Must be able to pass level 3 (basic level) of Japanese Language Proficiency test. b. Entire program should be finished by three years.
